Default L-39 bvm pnp

Can someone confirm the recommended elevator throws and flap compensation for the BVM or Jet Legend L-39?

BVM PNP instructions say +1.5" and -1.25" for the elevator. That seems excessive. An old Jet Legends RCU thread says +/- 20mm., which is about half that.

Also how much elevator compensation is needed for TO and Full Flaps? Up or down?

Thanks,
Joe

I have been flying the BVM L-39. I will be able to pull it off the shelf next week some time and will get you some numbers.

Thanks, I'd appreciate that.

Nice car too!

I spoke with Rob from BVM about it yesterday. He says those deflections are correct, BUT, on high rates. And he doesn’t fly in high rates. I’m going to start with 1” and he says that’ll be just fine.

1 inch seems more reasonable. I'll probably set my triple rates to 3/4, 1, and 1.25" for my maiden.

Any word on elevator/flap compensation?

No word on that. He might be working today, so give BVM a shout and see if he’s available to chat.

These are where mine are. I fly at the mid-setting. The flap compensation is nearly zero. It is a click or two down elevator for me but it can vary some.

If you haven't flown it yet, you're going to love it.. It's as close to a turbine trainer as there is.. Absolute sweetheart of an airplane.

Glad to hear that. I'm a few weeks away from maidening mine.
