10 cc gas engine

Maybe you should start with the application you need it for.
There is no clear winner in all cases, your best option is to search for threads or reports about the engine you consider.
I don't have an Evo 10 but do have the OS GGT10, NGH GT9 and RCGF10, each has its strengths and weaknesses.

OS has only the GGT10 to my knowledge using a G5 glow plug, OS offer a GT15 and GGT15 in the 15cc range.
The GGT10 is easily convertible to a GT10 by adding a EI ignition (1/4"-32 spark plug).
I prefer the simplicity of the Gas Glow G5 plug for small engines but others will have different opinions.
The GGT10 is a well made engine in the tried and tested OS tradition.

Mix it with the throttle servo to ignite when reducing throttle under 1/3 or 1/4, similar devices are often being used for 4 strokes and large glow engines.

Probably an overkill but why not? just be careful with your throttle control, you can probably tear the wings apart.
The OS GGT10 is probably more suitable and will result in a lighter plane. It is probably equivalent to a .60-.70 4 stroke.

Never had an Evolution, (but I have an MVVS which is a great engine) so cannot comment with any level of knowledge or experience.
Users like them so they must be good, nothing against the engine I just don't have a good supply source.
From the ones I have experience with, OS is still superior by quite a margin, it is the better designed and manufactured engine.

My Feedback: (7)
I have a 1st gen non pump EVO 10 in a Sig Tclips and it has plenty of power for it... and it's a great running motor and still run strong. you can tach it with hand held or get a plug in digital tach to get your high and low settings correct... You are going to be running your batters behind the cg to get it to balance correctly on most planes.

The Evo 10 comes with an Electronic Ignition module but can be used with a G5 glow plug.
The OS 10 only comes with the G5 plug but you can fit an aftermarket ignition module (and magnet).
Either will be a good choice, don't try anything else, you will spend time and money to get it to work.
