To refinish or leave it alone.. sigh.........
I painted this old girl for a friend back in about 2003. Then in around 2007 I bought her from the gentleman I painted it for. I flew her for a year with a PST1300 and then way overpowered her with a 44 lb thrust engine. I flew it until I felt I was pushing it to the point where I would break it. Then to help fund my firebird I sold her to a fellow in Washington around 2010 or so. He flew it for a couple years and sold it to my friend Paul who has had it for the last 2 or 3 years. Paul offered me a great deal and today she is back with me again. She still looks good. I was thinking about a refinish but I don't know. She's 13 years old with a tough life. Maybe she deserves new clothes maybe she deserves to stay as is. She will be powered by AMT power this time. I did honestly miss this bird. Happy to have her back.
So what do I do? Just leave it and fly it? Or give it a refinish? The bottom of the nose is scraped up from a nose gear collapse now, wingtips are scraped and covered in black rattle can paint, booms have had a bit of a tough life, but overall it's still a 7 out of 10. Sigh...........

Nice problem to have buddy. I still like the paint job and you already know which part I think you should leave alone. I would be tempted to freshen up the area in front of the canopy -esp the underside but overall it's ready to go. So stick your gear in it and go enjoy it.

I say refinish it to show off your skills and promote your business. With your talent you could maybe try something that's outside your comfort zone or your style? Could be frustrating but sometimes it pays off with new techniques for the arsenal

You can refinish that in just a couple days......you're a pro! I do think a good advert for your company would be good. Then take it to some Jet meets and bike shows (isn't a proven fact that Bike guys like jets and vice versa). then let me send you my jet and paint that one also.....since you are already working on one.

DO IT..
It would be great to see another one of your awesome finishes.. .
Then you can fly it for a season, sell it on to someone, and buy it back again in a few years.. ..
Seriously.. I would love to see another one of your paint schemes.. Perhaps even post a few pics as you go..

Ahhh, I say "Refinish it". Not because it doesn't look good, but because I'm being selfish -
I just want to see another LGM paint project. Very entertaining to watch said paint skills that I have so little time to develop. It's almost like (wait for it...) watching paint dry...
:-)
Seriously would love to see another custom paint project from you in action and as said before, can't hurt to give it such a thorough going through.
