Is it too late to join the Stik Brotherhood? I have a Midwest sweetstik 40 with a K&B 60 on it, vertical is out of this world. I also just picked up the plans and a short kit for Bud Nosen's Big Stik. I will build that when I'm comfortable flying again. I've not flown in ten years so there's a little trainer time I'm going to have to do first.
I will post pictures in the very near future.

I still have my original Jenson from Christmas 1978 and another I bought flying 15 years ago, which was built in '85. Original is under restoration; wrecked and stuck in Mom's attic which saved it from trash. I just wish I could fly it with my Futaba FP4 on red and white.

I flew my ARTF Stick 1500 on Sunday, at half speed it flew like a trainer. I was quite pleasantly surprised!
This model is available on the French market, please see post 77 for a picture. I have replaced the original undercarriage and its mounting with something more substantial from a wrecked model which I have held on to. I find that this is commonplace with cheap ARTFs!

i got a used Ultra Stick and i put a Tomcat G32 , 4200 4s on/in it, and its got the original standard servos -with the battery in the nose it weighs 5.5 lbs, destructions say weight 3.5 lbs., lead hotglued into the nose on each side of the lipo as far forward as possible to find the CG 2.5 " from the leading edge at the fuse
-short stubby nose is designed to be tail heavy for agility? seems obese , for the WS - ive found nothing mentioned how much lead anyones had to install in this frames nose
PO gave up on it without a smash it to smithereens landing, firewalls got signs of 2 smaller motors on it

Here is my entry for the Ugly Stik. After about 35 years out of the RC hobby I decided to return. One of my favorite models is the Ugly Stik. I found plans here on RCU and I scratch build this model. It sure was a learning experience or maybe a re-learning experience. I had to get my building skills back online. Not a perfect build but I think it turned out good. I planned on a gas engine even though I knew nothing about gas engines. Nearing the end of the build, about February 2015, I decided not to make this my training airplane. So I went with a SPAD trainer to get some flying skills.
Now I am finishing this Stik for a maiden flight. I changed from gas back to glow. So I now have a tail heavy airplane. I'm going to mount the engine forward on the engine mount, change from lightweight wheels to standard wheels and I am moving the fuselage servos forward of the wing spar. I still may have to add some nose weight. Lastly I will add machine guns on the forward hatch.
This year so far has been a no fly year. I hope to get most of my other projects done and get back to flying sometime in September. I have 2 other planes to finish for maiden flights and one model under construction.

Wingspan is 64". I haven't weighed it so not sure on weight. I have an OS 65AX for power and it needs to be run in on my test stand.
Here is a picture of my Kwik Stick I in a bare bones picture. I have it covered but no picture. It is in storage for now. When I start working on it again I'll post a picture.

My stick collection
I call this one my tri-nitro stick. scratch built .40 sized ugly stick with 3 x's OS 40 LA's. Magnetic brakes and oleo strut on the nose. Each motor has its own fuel tanks and a center servo in the wing to control the throttles on the wing and the fuselage engine has its own throttle servo. hitec 225 all around except the fuselage throttle and its a hitec 65. all powered by 2 x's 2000 nimh for power. needs all the slots in a 9 channel receiver to make everything work together and weight is just over 9 lbs. Not a speedster but can hold its own and has a nice sound with all 3 motors roaring in sync.
2nd stick is a scratch built .25 sized stick which i built from plans downloaded from the net. Call it Ferrari stick. Hitec 225's all around. Hitec 85mg's 1 for each aileron. OS ,46SF on a Dubb Jett mini pipe spinning 14.5 RPM. this is real rocket with ore than 1;1 power. total dry weight is 4.0 lbs.

Aloha Guys,
How about numbering the Stick Brotherhood members like other brotherhoods do.
I have been building sticks for over 40 years. Single, twins, three engines and four engines sticks of all sizes. From Cox .o49 to a Giant Ugly stick Twin with two electric stares EME 35 cc gas engines. I've built mini sticks, little sticks, Midwest biplane stick, Sweet and Low wing sticks, Midwest Twin stick, Sweet Stick...I have built several with 20 cc gas engines (Tower .60~.90 size stick) and to be honest...I must have built at least 30 or more over the years. They all fly well...predictable on landing and though not the best aerobatic model on earth....the easiest model I ever built and have flown.
I love Ugly Sticks....
Soft Landings Always,
Bobby of Maui

The weather here is very depressing. Fog and drizzle. I've just spent ten minutes going through the thread allocating numbers based upon the dates when the first post was put up.
1. GXR1000
2. Pylon Racr etc
It turns out that I'm no 36 if anyone's interested!

My Feedback: (13)
Hi Guys,
My first was a Little Stick...put out by Lenny Lenard that he sold out of his hobby shop in San Fernando Valley, In Los Angeles...early 70's. I built up many after this...first were powered with Super Tiger .23's...then on to K&B .40's and eventually a O.S. Rotory in the little stick. Man oh Man that was fun. I am now building a Twin Giant AMR kit with two auto start EME 35 cc gas engines. I've built so many Ugly Sticks in my past...It amazes me. I love the .60~.90 Great Planes Ugly Sticks with a .20 cc gas engine in stalled. I needed to beef up the tail big time...and I mounted all the tail servo's in the rear of the fuse and made it a tail dragger. Great combination. I have on back order a Big Stick .30 cc gas engine size from Tower and I will install a twin cylinder 40cc VVRC gas engine into it when it arrives. I have made one, two, three and four engine Ugly Sticks in my life...all flew well.
Thanks for the update on our brotherhood numbers.
Soft Landings Always,
Bobby Of Maui
